67th-term Graduation Ceremony of Korean University of Chongryon Held

Pyongyang, March 15 (KCNA) -- The 67th-term graduation ceremony of Korean University of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan took place at the university hall in Tokyo on March 9.

Present there were Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and director of its Organization Department, Song Kun Hak, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and director of its Education Department, Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan, Han Tong Song, rector of Korean University, and other officials, teaching staff, graduates, parents and students.

The national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was played.

A congratulatory message from the Ministry of Education of the DPRK was read out at the ceremony.

Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, made a congratulatory speech.

He said that there are many universities in the world, but only the graduates of Korean University make a new, hopeful start along the broad road of patriotism indicated by the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un after spending their glorious university life at the DPRK's only university for overseas compatriots.

He called upon the graduates of the university to discharge their duty through a dynamic movement for patriotism by learning all the time from compatriots and relying on their wisdom and strength, bearing in mind that the inexhaustible strength of compatriots precisely means the strength of Chongryon and a shortcut to ushering in a new heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan.

A report was made by Han Tong Song, rector of Korean University. Then there were a ceremony of awarding the citations to graduates and vowing speeches.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was read out at the ceremony.
