International Day of Midwife Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- An event took place at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club on Monday to mark the International Day of the Midwife 2025.

Present there were officials of the Ministry of Public Health, officials concerned and medical workers of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and others in Pyongyang.

At the event a speaker said that the International Midwives Federation raised the theme for this year as "Midwives; Critical in Every Crisis". The speaker noted that the pregnant women and nursing mothers and infants in the Korean-style socialist system are receiving good medical assistance under the state benefits.

The speaker said that all the midwives should devote their utmost sincerity to the health care of the pregnant women and nursing mothers and infants with warm human love and high professionalism, thus adding pleasure and happiness to the families and society.

Then, announced at the event were the ways for the health care of pregnant women and nursing mothers and infants at a time when disaster occurs. -0-
