Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the Sci-Tech Complex here on Wednesday to mark the Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Present there were Jon Chol Hi, chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled, officials and employees of relevant units, disabled persons and their families.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

Speakers said that under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea, all persons with disabilities are receiving the benefits from the state according to the socialist policies in every sphere of social life and realizing their desire and talent to the full.

Donation certificates were awarded to those who actively support persons with disabilities, and the achievements made by disabled persons were introduced.

The participants at the meeting watched a video dealing with the work to protect the disabled in recent years and looked round the exhibits presented by disabled persons.

Meanwhile, a performance was given by members of the art group of the Korean Art Association of the Disabled at the Chongjin Theatre in North Hamgyong Province in commemoration of the Day of Persons with Disabilities. -0-
