Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK has repaired major irrigation waterways to provide a guarantee for successfully ensuring next year's farming.

Agricultural workers in Sinchon, Jaeryong and Anak counties have repaired the Sinwon-Ongjin and Kangryong waterways of more than 40 kilometers to ensure the safety of the waterway and increase its water-pass capacity.

Pyoksong, Kangryong and Ongjin counties have finished the repair of the West Sea Barrage-Sinchon, Kangryong and Ongjin waterways extending over 40 kilometers.

Agricultural workers in Chongdan, Unryul, Songhwa and Sinwon counties successfully finished their assignments by introducing rational working methods.

Agricultural workers in Haeju City and Jangyon, Samchon, Thaethan and Pongchon counties completed the projects for repairing waterways and dikes to smoothly supply the water needed for next year's farming.

The province has put efforts into the maintenance and repair of all irrigation facilities to further perfect the irrigation system. -0-
