Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- Officials and employees of the Sports Facilities Management Bureau under the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports in the DPRK have made achievements in operating the sports facilities through mass technological innovations.

Technicians and workers of the Table-Tennis Gymnasium, Athletics Gymnasium and Combat Sports Gymnasium, etc. in Chongchun Street established the power system a rational way and replaced old lights with new ones to save electric power and ensure the standard illumination at gymnasiums.

Those of the basketball and volleyball gymnasiums established a new cooling and heating system and improved the performance of air conditioners so as to ensure the indoor temperatures.

The Weightlifting Gymnasium modernized equipment and built cultural and welfare establishments by its own efforts and technology.

The walls of the Badminton Gymnasium and other gymnasiums were repaired and painted in a qualitative way, and the repairs to the roof of the Handball Gymnasium were completed.

Officials and employees of the bureau planted more than 30 species of trees and flower shrubs in the sports village in Chongchun Street and are conducting the greening in a far-sighted way. -0-
