Koam-Tapchon Railways

Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- There are Koam-Tapchon Railways crossing rough sea of Sokjon Bay in the East Sea of Korea.

The railways connecting Koam area in Munchon City of Kangwon Province to the Songjon peninsula is the first marine railway bridge of the DPRK.

The magnificent and peculiar railways are the precious fruit of the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who led the construction of a Korean-style marine railway bridge in order to develop the country's fishing industry and provide the people with a more affluent life.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un unfolded a grand plan to build a large-scale fishing village area in the areas of Koam, Tapchon and Chonapho favorable for the development of the fishing industry and set forth the task of building modern Koam-Tapchon Railways as a preceding process.

He personally indicated the orientation and ways for the railway construction and guided the layout several times so as to resolve all problems arising in the construction.

One day in May 2018, when he visited the completed Koam-Tapchon Railways, he said with great satisfaction that they are really wonderful, looking at the railways crossing the rough sea, and he highly appreciated the exploits of the builders, scientists and technicians who successfully carried out the huge project.

That day, he told officials about his good idea of turning the bridge into a multipurpose one by widening the bridge so that even vehicles could use it.

Later, the builders made the Sokjonman Bridge a multipurpose one, which can be used by trains and vehicles, in a short span of time, and decorated the area with electric light. -0-
