Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- Kaesong Municipality in the DPRK is concentrating its efforts on improving the quality of general education.

The municipality takes measures for improving the qualifications of teachers and gives political and technical guidance to improve teaching guidance and methods.

It has urged schools to intensify guidance over creating new valuable teaching methods and draw up and carry out teaching plans according to the characteristics of schools and regions.

Teachers of the Municipal Teaching Training Centre visited schools according to the weekly and monthly plans to help them raise the teachers' practical abilities and perfect their teaching preparations.

Meanwhile, the municipality has organized contests of different subjects to train students into development-and-creation-oriented talents and the talents of practical technologies and made sure that teachers' performances are appraised on the basis of the level of improvement in writing and foreign language conversation of students.
