Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- Efforts are being made in different parts of the DPRK to increase the number of referees for mass sports games.
The courses for the members of the non-permanent mass sports association were held across the country.
Competent officials gave lectures in different parts of Pyongyang. Through the courses, the participants acquired wide-ranging sports knowledge and common sense for refereeing various sports games.
The courses held in cities and counties of South Phyongan Province and North Hamgyong Province aroused the interest of many officials and working people as they were held through comparison and analysis and question-and-answer method with the main emphasis on giving answers to the issues arising in refereeing various matches.
Lecturers in Kangwon and South Hwanghae provinces and other areas explained to the participants the principles to be observed in refereeing table tennis, badminton and others and matters that demand special attention.
The courses, attended by more than 10 000 members of the non-permanent mass sports association from over 9 000 units across the country, served as a significant occasion of putting mass sports on a new high stage. -0-
