National Economic Plans for February Fulfilled in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- The national economic plans for February were successfully fulfilled in various economic sectors and units of the DPRK.

The workers in charge of iron and steel production made collective innovations, bearing in mind the expectation of the Workers' Party of Korea and the people that the metal industrial sector would exert its most strength.

The workers in the chemical industry made successes in the production of fertilizer and products through a dynamic drive for increased production.

Those in the electric power industry carried out their February plans by bringing about a surge in production.

Officials and workers in the coal industry over-fulfilled the February plan of the Ministry of Coal Industry by vigorously conducting a socialist patriotic movement for increased coal production.

Amid the dynamic struggle to consolidate the foundations for the self-supporting development of the Juche industry, the Ministry of Machine-building Industry fulfilled its monthly plan and a brisk drive for increased production was launched in the mining industry.

The workers in the forestry sector carried out their February timber production plans ahead of schedule while creating favourable conditions for production. The workers in the railway transport sector fulfilled their plans for freight transport.

The achievements made in the building-materials industry have injected vitality to the grand construction sites.

The Ministry of Fisheries, too, over-fulfilled its February plan for seafood production. -0-
