Public Health Sector Dispatches Medical Workers to Flood-hit Areas

Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- The Ministry of Public Health dispatched officials in the field of preventive and curative medical care to the flood-hit areas to learn about medical equipment and medicines available in relevant health organs, and launched the operation and command to immediately deploy the rapid mobile treatment team composed of medical workers of the central-level hospitals.

To this end, competent medical workers of Pyongyang University of Medicine Hospital, Kim Man Yu Hospital and Okryu Children's Hospital equipped with modern diagnosis and test facilities arrived on the spot and started the preventive treatment for the flood victims and a lot of medicines were transported to the flood-hit areas.

The members of the rapid mobile medical team, in cooperation with local medical workers, are doing their best to ensure the life and security of the people.

Officials of the ministry have established a combined control system and promptly taken measures to ensure the operation of medical service centers and system in the areas.

Officials of the state center for disease prevention and management are directing the anti-epidemic work in the flood-hit areas, and officials of the pharmaceutical industry management bureau are taking measures to urgently produce and supply disinfectants to the flood-hit areas. -0-
