Pyongyang, January 8 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place on Jan. 7 to mark the 50th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's field guidance at the Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Kim Kwang Uk, president of the academy, made a report there.

The reporter recalled that President Kim Il Sung founded the Academy of Agricultural Sciences under such difficult circumstances after the liberation of Korea, provided the most superior and scientific Juche farming method and visited the academy on January 8, 1975.

He acquainted himself in detail with the scientific research achievements made by the agricultural scientists for a long time, gave precious instructions to be regarded as guidelines in the agricultural scientific research, and had a photo session with them to show great loving care for them, the reporter noted.

The reporter also said that Chairman Kim Jong Il indicated the road ahead of the agricultural science, setting forth the Juche-oriented policies on agricultural revolution.

He said that the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, who sent a historic letter to the agricultural scientists marking the 70th founding anniversary of the academy, set forth the programme for the rural revolution in the new era, put forward the agricultural front as an outpost in the struggle for defending socialism, built a number of bases for agricultural science research into the ones of the world level, provided modern experimental apparatuses and equipment and has energetically led the work of the agricultural science field.

The reporter called upon all the officials and scientists to fulfill their duty as scientists of the Party, firmly united behind the General Secretary. -0-
