Land Realignment Project Propelled in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- Jagang Province of the DPRK is pushing ahead with the land realignment project to turn thousands of hectares of dry fields into paddy fields.

In recent years, the provincial rural economy committee turned hundreds of hectares of dry fields in Hyangsan County into paddy fields, thus making several farms produce three more tons of grain per hectare than maize farming.

On the basis of this experience, it set a goal to turn thousands of hectares of dry fields into paddy fields and has conducted the work for realizing it while providing machines on a preferential way.

Officials and working people in charge of land realignment made a survey of fields to be realigned and have introduced rational working methods to register high results.

The land realignment project is progressing faster than schedule, under the provincial interest. -0-
