Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- South Hamgyong Province in the DPRK renders material and moral assistance to the socialist countryside.

Officials of the province and its cities and counties organized exhibitions of medium and small farm implements and pushed ahead with the organizational and political work to send more farm implements to the countryside.

Officials, workers and technicians at the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, the Ryongsong Machine Complex and the February 8 Vinalon Complex manufactured equipment necessary for ploughing paddy and non-paddy fields and transporting work and presented them to exhibitions.

The provincial power transmission and distribution station, the provincial foreign trade administration bureau, the provincial communication management bureau and other units secured useful and easy-to-handle farm implements.

Farm implements and farming materials, provided by workers of the Hamhung Youth Electric Appliances Plant and the Hamhung Knitwear Factory and inhabitants in Songchongang, Hoesang and Sapho districts of Hamhung City, drew the attention of visitors.

Tanchon City and Sinhung, Hamju, Kumya, Pujon and Hochon counties, too, manufactured many farm implements by themselves.

An exhibition of medium and small farm implements took place at Hamhung Square on Wednesday.

Ri Jong Nam, chief secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and officials in the province looked round the venue of the exhibition. -0-
