Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- Sowing of spring wheat and barley seeds began in rural areas of the DPRK.

Yonan, Sinwon and Kangryong counties of South Hwanghae Province are improving the soil fertility of fields by applying enough manure to the fields on the basis of the successes and experience gained in the past. And they are pushing ahead with sowing as planned.

North Hwanghae Province organized a passing-on technique workshop on wheat and barley seeding to sow fields with the earlier crops in a scientific way.

South Hamgyong and North Phyongan provinces have increased the operating rate of sowing machines to sow seeds in large areas every day.

Agricultural workers in Kaesong and Nampho municipalities have enlarged the fields under wheat and barley cultivation and created conditions for a bumper harvest, expanding successes in sowing. -0-
