Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- A steel works has been built in South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK.
The iron and steel production base has been built, furnished with furnaces, oxygen converters, induction furnaces and rolling equipment with advanced metallurgical technology, and thereby a solid material and technical foundation has provided to make a substantial contribution to the economic development of the province.
An inauguration ceremony of the Hwangnam Steel Works was held on the spot on Aug. 10.
Present there were Pak Thae Dok, chief secretary of the South Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials and working people in the province and employees of the steel works.
Kim Chol Bom, chairman of the South Hwanghae Provincial People's Committee, made an inaugural address.
At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round the steel works. -0-
