Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- A national sci-tech presentation and exhibition in the field of biotechnology was held from September 15 to 19 under the sponsorship of the Korean Biotechnology Society of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

Attending the presentation and exhibition held on the theme of "Rapid development and application of biotechnology" were officials, scientists, technicians and postgraduate students from more than 10 units including Kim Il Sung University and the Bioengineering Branch of the State Academy of Sciences.

Submitted to the sci-tech presentation were the basic research achievements for developing biotechnology and valuable papers conducive to putting biotechnology on a practical basis and making products based on biotechnology.

Presented to the exhibition were data and exhibits showing the research, development, introduction and economic effectiveness of biotechnology.

During the exhibition, there was a lecture on the concept and development trends of bioeconomy. -0-
