Pyongyang, December 4 (KCNA) -- Progress is made in strengthening the railway lines, thanks to hard-working officials and workers in the railway transport sector of the DPRK.

The Pyongyang Railway Bureau distinguishes itself in the production of concrete sleepers and railway fixtures and in the maintenance and reinforcement of railway lines and structures.

Officials and workers of the Haeju Railway Branch improved the railway lines extending tens of kilometers under their charge.

The Pukchang Sleeper Production Company and the Ripsok Concrete Sleeper Production Company gave precedence to the supply of materials and intensified inter-process cooperation and ensured the full-capacity operation of machines and equipment, thus fulfilling their yearly plan.

The Hamhung Railway Bureau replaced the sleepers of the railway lines under their charge with new ones and repaired iron bridges and retaining walls, thus ensuring the stability of structures.

Similar work has been done by the Kaechon and Chongjin railway bureaus. -0-
