Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- The fishing sector of the DPRK directs big efforts to developing the pelagic fishing.

Officials of the Ministry of Fisheries have stepped up the work under a stepwise plan to organize distant-sea fleets and provide a material and technical foundations.

The Sinpho Distant-Sea Fishery Complex has striven to settle the problems arising in overhauling and servicing fishing boats and providing fishermen with living conditions. It took practical measures to improve the technical skills of fishermen and put the fishing on a scientific basis of higher level.

Meanwhile, officials and workers of the South Hamgyong Provincial Fishery Management Bureau contributed to the voyage of distant-sea fleet.

Fishing boats left for the ocean on July 14.

Minister of Fisheries Song Chun Sop and officials, employees and families in the fishing sector presented garlands and bouquets to the fishermen and warmly saw them off. -0-
