Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- The 12th Sports Contest among Public Health Workers opened with due ceremony at the Taekwon-Do Hall on May 2.

The basketball (men), volleyball (men and women), table tennis, Taekwon-Do, a tug of war and other events are to be held, divided into two groups.

Present at the opening ceremony were Choe Tong Myong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, public health workers and players.

After the ceremony, all the teams marched in file, and there was a men's volleyball match between the teams of the Pyongyang University of Medicine Hospital and the Academy of Medical Science. -0-
