Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Agricultural workers across the DPRK are pushing ahead with the winter wheat and barley sowing at the final stage.

Those in North Phyongan Province finished sowing in the shortest period after expanding the areas under wheat and barley cultivation by thousands of hectares as compared with last year and carpeting every hectare of the fields with dozens of tons of quality manure.

Those in South Phyongan Province rationally organized manpower, made effective use of farm machines and thus finished the winter wheat and barley sowing in the province earlier than last year.

Those in Jagang Province increased the proportion of mechanization, introduced the advanced farming methods and thus ensured the quality and speed in sowing.

Officials of North Hamgyong Province organized passing-on technique and demonstration for winter wheat and barley sowing and intensified field technical guidance to make sure that technical requirements for every process are thoroughly met.

Agricultural workers in Pyongyang, Nampho and Kaesong municipalities and North Hwanghae Province concentrated on winter wheat and barley sowing despite unfavorable weather conditions. -0-
