Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- A national book exhibition dealing with the glorious and brilliant 80-year-long history of the Workers' Party of Korea was opened.

On display at the exhibition are more than 15 000 books and magazines of over 10 000 kinds including immortal classic works of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and socio-political books on the Party's policies.

The opening ceremony of the national book exhibition for celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK was held at the Grand People's Study House on October 7.

Present there were Ju Chang Il, department director of the WPK Central Committee, officials concerned and officials in the field of publication.

Ju Chang Il made an opening address.

The speaker said that the national book exhibition would be held at a significant time when the DPRK people are steadfastly carrying forward the ever-victorious history and tradition of Juche Korea and ushering in a new heyday of strengthening the whole Party and the era of comprehensive development of national prosperity under the guidance of the great Party Central Committee.

He stressed that through the exhibition officials and the working people would harden the pledge of patriotic loyalty to further push on the all-people advance for the prosperity of the socialist country, bearing in mind the great pride of holding in high esteem the peerlessly outstanding leaders possessed of gifted wisdom and extraordinary leadership ability.

After the opening ceremony, the participants looked round the venue of the exhibition. -0-
