Efforts to Supply Iron and Steel to Flood-hit Areas Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- The metallurgical industry sector of the DPRK is pushing ahead with the production of iron and steel to be sent to the flood-hit areas, true to the spirit of the 22nd emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex has steadily improved the operation technology of the energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnace by exploring and introducing rational operating methods and new ideas, thus increasing the Juche iron production.

The Chollima Steel Complex has taken measures to raise the extraction rate of molten iron and lower the power consumption of electric motors and transformers and turned out a large amount of iron and steel by directing efforts to improving the performance of rolling equipment.

The Posan Iron Works ensures the quality of Samhwa iron while operating the pulverizing system and charging equipment effectively and observing the technical requirements in mixing raw materials.

The Chongjin Steel Plant has solved technical problems arising in normal operation of rotary furnaces, thus providing a reliable guarantee for carrying out the plan.

Officials and workers of the Musan Mining Complex have made innovations in producing concentrated ores by inventing new drilling methods and increasing the operation rate of large cone crushers, rotary drills and long-distance belt conveyor. -0-
