Kangwon Province Strives to Minimize Damage by Disastrous Abnormal Weather

Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- Rural villages in Kangwon Province of the DPRK are taking agro-technical measures to minimize the damage caused by the disastrous abnormal weather.

Officials of the provincial rural economy committee are giving a scientific guidance over farming in order to cope with the abnormal weather.

Meanwhile, agricultural guidance organs in cities and counties are directing efforts to minimizing the damage to crop, enhancing the role of water pump operators, water caretakers of paddy fields and harmful insect observers and installing more observation posts at vulnerable places and dispatching more members there.

All farms have made preparations for overcoming the effects of damp and fierce heat in close cooperation with the hydro-meteorological field and taken agro-technical measures according to the conditions of crop growth. -0-
