Senior Middle School Graduates of DPRK Volunteer for Forefront Border Posts

Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- Hundreds of senior middle school graduates in Jagang Province of the DPRK have volunteered for military service in the forefront border.

Many graduates in Kanggye and Manpho cities and Chosan and Usi counties vowed to become soldiers defending the country with revolutionary arms.

They were joined by those in the counties of Tongsin, Janggang, Rangnim, Sijung and Hwaphyong where modern regional-industry factories have sprung up and new appearance of transformation has been displayed.

Those in Huichon City, and Songgan, Jonchon, Songwon and Wiwon counties are full of the enthusiasm for performing proud military exploits while dedicating their youth to the forefront posts, true to the spirit of the victorious wartime generation.

Those from Huichon Middle School for Orphans and from Jasong, Kophung and Ryongnim counties, expressed their will to glorify their youth on the road of defending their precious motherland.

A meeting was held in Kanggye City on February 13 to congratulate the volunteers.

Present there were Pak Song Chol, chief secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Sin Chang Gil, chairman of the provincial people's committee, and other officials of the Party and power organs and the youth league in the province and students in Kanggye City.

Prior to the meeting, the graduates visited the Cemetery of Fallen Fighters of the Korean People's Army in the city of Kanggye and vowed to firmly defend their defence posts. -0-
