Efforts Made in DPRK for Normal Operation of Regional-industry Factories

Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- Members of the February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians, dispatched to the non-permanent central committee for promoting the Regional Development 20×10 Policy, and other scientists and technicians of different units in the DPRK strive to settle the sci-tech problems arising in putting the operation of newly-built regional-industry factories on a normal track.

Last year those scientists, technicians and officials designed thousands of equipment amounting to more than 70 percent and manufactured most of them, ensuring their installation and trial operation. Successes were also made in training skilled workers and disseminating advanced sci-tech data.

Kim Il Sung University organized cooperation among different faculties and units and provided guidance to establish an integrated production system at the Sinpho City Offshore Farm.

Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry established a refined oil production line of Korean style that is highly efficient and suited to the production conditions in all regions.

The State Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Light Industry established a soap production line suited to the specific conditions of the country and settled the problems arising in producing quality soap.

This year, too, many scientists and technicians are pooling their creative wisdom and efforts with officials and working people on the spot to solve the sci-tech problems arising in normalizing the operation of newly-built regional-industry factories. -0-
