Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- The Chollima Steel Complex in the DPRK is directing efforts to consolidating the production foundations.

The steel workshop shortens the steelmaking time and makes successes in the production of iron and steel according to indices by correctly interlocking shifts, introducing more than 10 valuable technical innovations and putting the operation of electric furnaces on a normal track.

The rolling shop is speeding up the remodeling of equipment of heating furnaces in a planned way and increasing the productivity by utilizing rational furnace operation methods.

Officials and workers of different units including the ferroalloy, fireproof material and oxygen shops are producing and supplying raw and other materials needed for steel production in time, thus balancing production and equipment repairing and injecting vitality into the increased production of iron and steel.

The complex is laying modern production foundations according to a step-by-step plan.

Officials and workers of the Metal Construction Company and the Kangson Industrial Construction Company are pushing ahead with the preparations for the foundation work of the 60-ton UHP electric arc furnace as scheduled while introducing efficient working methods.

Officials, technicians and builders of the complex are speeding up the construction of the electrode production base while solving the knotty problems by their own efforts and technology. -0-
