Pyongyang, June 20 (KCNA) -- North Hwanghae Province in the DPRK set a goal to realize self-sufficiency of building materials necessary for regional construction and is directing efforts to strengthening the production foundation for it.

The province has pushed ahead with the projects to expand the production capacities of the Unpha Cement Factory and the Kyongam Cement Factory, restore and rehabilitate the production line of building parts and elements at the Kyongam Building Materials Factory and provide a foundation for producing tiles and colorpaving blocks.

The Sariwon Steel Works pushes ahead with the project to increase productivity while reducing costs.

In addition, the province steps up the construction of modern base capable of producing various kinds of building materials, while ensuring that all construction units lay their building-materials production foundations and produce and supply finishing building materials.

Sinphyong County provided a foundation for producing fittings and plastic tubes by strengthening its technical forces, and the competition among cities and counties is gaining momentum to produce the building materials needed for regional construction with their efforts, technology and resources. -0-
