Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- The Wonsan Salt Works in the DPRK is pushing ahead with the work to lay its own material and technical foundations.
The construction of over 300 brine storage ponds and over 200 underground ultra-saline water axial flow pumping stations was completed by the devoted efforts of the officials and workers of the salt works.
The salt works replaced hundreds of old electric-light poles with concrete ones and secured tens of thousands of equipment and materials of over 60 kinds, including electric motors and pumps, to provide a guarantee for the supply of electricity and normal operation of cableways.
The salters brought the evaporating and crystallization pond beds to a level, installed irrigation gates and repaired the ridges. And the water pump operators have secured spare parts necessary for the full operation of the equipment and are managing the equipment responsibly. -0-
