Scientific Research Successes Made in DPRK

Pyongyang, January 19 (KCNA) -- Kim Il Sung University and scientific research institutes have made research successes.

The Chemical Faculty of the university developed Korean-style waste oil recycling technology and built a new large-capacity waste oil recycling process at the Taean Heavy Machine Complex.

The successful test run of the newly-built Korean-style waste oil recycling process made it possible to recycle waste oil at machine plants.

The Electric Power Industry Research Institute under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry developed a new digital protection system for the auto-consumption system at thermal power plants, thus making it possible to put the production of electricity on a stable basis and raise the scientific level of management at thermal power plants.

The Agrobiology Institute under the Academy of Agricultural Sciences established a new tissue culture technology for mass-cultivating sweet potato seedlings in a short period of time.

The technology opened up another prospect for solving the sugar problem in cities and counties. -0-
