Pyongyang, May 19 (KCNA) -- Bumper products are seen at the Sinpho City Offshore Farm, which was successfully built as a model of the offshore farming in the new era under the great benevolence of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Thanks to the devoted efforts of the officials and employees of the farm who have directed efforts to cultivating and tending kelp by dint of science and technology, the bumper kelp has been harvested for the first time since its inauguration.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who saw to it that a model of offshore aquaculture was created under the direct guidance of the WPK Central Committee, personally attended the inaugural ceremony of the Sinpho City Offshore Farm and set forth the important task to revitalize the management of the farm and increase its profits and effectiveness to the maximum.

The officials and workers of the farm have made redoubled efforts to repay the benevolence of the Party which took special measures for Sinpho City located in the sea to lay the material and technical foundations for economic development and the improvement of the people's standard of living.

The employees conducted the cultivation and tending as required by technical regulations, introducing advanced farming techniques and methods suitable for sea temperature and sunshine conditions in conformity with the biological characteristics of kelp.

The ranks of skilled workers have been expanded and the real-time monitoring system for the sea has been completed with the help of researchers of relevant units and many other sci-tech achievements have been introduced to increase the per-hectare yield.

The officials and employees of the farm have steadily made achievements while harvesting kelp. -0-
