Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- Dozens of tunneling units in the Ministry of Coal Industry of the DPRK fulfilled their first half-yearly plans ahead of schedule.

Coal mines across the country have concentrated efforts on strengthening the tunneling forces and giving priority to the supply of equipment and materials, thus recording high production results.

Various units of the Sunchon Area Youth Coal-mining Complex fulfilled their first half-yearly plans by the end of May by increasing the speed of progress per cycle with advanced drilling methods and efficient blasting methods suited to the conditions of rock quality.

The Pukchang Area Youth Coal-mining Complex and the Kujang Area Coal-mining Complex launched a high-speed tunneling campaign to make achievements in securing more deposits of coal.

The high-speed tunneling platoon of the Pit No. 7 of the Jenam Coal Mine of the Tokchon Area Coal-mining Complex, the Cha Kwang Su Youth Shock Brigade of the Tukjang Youth Coal Mine under the Tukjang Area Coal-mining Complex and other units made collective innovations to record high tunneling speed every day.

The tunneling units of the Kaechon Coal Mine of the Kaechon Area Coal-mining Complex, the Ryongnam Coal Mine of the Kangdong Area Coal-mining Complex and the Sinri Coal Mine of the Anju Area Coal-mining Complex carried out their first half-yearly plans by conducting the vigorous mass movements including the movement of doing one more shift and helping the next shift. -0-
