Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- The activities of scientific farming promotion teams have been brisk in different parts of the DPRK.

The members of the team dispatched to South Hwanghae Province are directing efforts to cultivating nutritive cold-bed rice seedlings in a scientific way on the basis of the data on the growth survey, as the areas for introducing nutritive cold-bed rice seedlings have increased considerably.

Those dispatched to South Phyongan Province are making researches on protecting crops from the persistent high temperature phenomenon. They are taking sci-tech measures to prevent rice sheath blight and rice bacterial leaf blight which widely occur in the latter half period of growth of paddy rice.

Those dispatched to South Hamgyong Province are making researches on the distribution of varieties of early crops farming next year while finding out the effect of treating wheat and barley seeds with seed-covering materials and bioactive materials and the technical characteristics of seeds cultivation. -0-
