Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- DPRK players returned home on Saturday after taking part in the Qatar International Weightlifting Cup 2025.

They bagged 18 gold medals and set three new world records in it.

O Kwang Ok won three gold medals in the women's 58kg category, with 105kg in snatch, 133kg in clean and jerk (new world record) and 238kg in total (new world record).

Ri Chong Song lifted 162kg in snatch, 204kg in clean and jerk and 366kg in total (new world record) in the men's 79kg category, clinching three gold medals.

Kim Hyok Song, Paek Hye Jong, Pak Jin Hae, Kim Kyong Ryong, too, bagged three gold medals respectively in the men's 65kg category and the women's 53kg , 63kg and 77kg categories.

They were warmly greeted at Pyongyang International Airport by officials concerned and their families. -0-
