Trade Union Officials Make Study Tour of Mt Paektu Area

Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- Trade union officials from across the DPRK made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from February 24 to March 2.

The members of the study tour group left Hyesan and arrived at Pochonbo. They went round the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, the police sub-station, the sub-county office, etc. and toured the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site and the Samjiyon Revolutionary Battle Site.

They walked into the Sobaeksu Valley, fluttering the national flag of the DPRK and the flag of the study tour group. At the headquarters log cabin and Chairman Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp, they recollected the noble revolutionary careers of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

They looked round the trees bearing slogans preserved in the forests.

They climbed Mt Paektu.

Then they went round Mupho Bivouac, the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Musan Area, the Sinsadong Revolutionary Battle Site, etc.

Trade union officials and members from across the country held an oath-taking meeting before the statue of Kim Jong Il in Samjiyon City on March 2.

All the participants vowed to carry thorough the important tasks set forth at the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and thus contribute to the prosperity and development of the great DPRK.

During the study tour, trade union officials camped in forests and conducted colorful political and cultural activities like the anti-Japanese guerrillas and visited the Samjiyon Revolutionary Museum, the Samjiyon Potato Farina Production Factory, etc. -0-
