Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- The 2025 WIPO national awards were given in the DPRK.

Prof. and Dr. Sin Kye Ryong, a section chief of the Applied Chemistry Institute of the Chemical Faculty of Kim Il Sung University, and Dr. Jo Son Ok, director of the Moksong External Construction Economic and Technical Cooperation, received the WIPO National Inventor Award. They developed an intellectual product with a rare earth element abundant in the country as the main raw material. The product is popular among people for its high therapeutic effect and was highly appreciated at various festivals, exhibitions and shows last year.

Dr. and Associate Prof. Choe Ryon, a teacher of the Faculty of Korean Linguistics of Kim Il Sung University, won the WIPO National Creation Award. She created a full-length novel "Make the Youth Green" which took the first place in the copyright field of the Intellectual Property Development Exhibition-2024.

So Jae Ung, a student of Changdok School, was granted the WIPO National Children Award. A science fiction model "Agricultural Robot" invented by So Jae Ung took the special place at the National Exhibition of Children's Science Fiction Models and Inventions-2024.

The Korea Oriental Instant Pharmaceutical Company received the WIPO National Business Award. Many patent products, medicines and health foods produced by it are popular at home and abroad.

The WIPO national awards are the prizes awarded jointly by the World Intellectual Property Organization and its relevant member state to those who have contributed to the economic, sci-tech and cultural development of its country by creating intellectual wealth. -0-
