Memorial Service for Choe Hong Hui Held

Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- A memorial service for Choe Hong Hui, ex-president of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF), was held at the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri of DPRK Saturday on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of his death.

Present there were executive members of the ITF and the International Martial Arts Games Committee, representatives of national associations, Taekwon-Doists and persons concerned of martial arts from different countries and the bereaved families.

On hand were officials of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, officials concerned, Taekwon-Do instructors and players of the DPRK.

Laid before the grave of Choe Hong Hui were wreaths in the names of the ITF, the International Martial Arts Games Committee, the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, the Committee for Aiding Overseas Compatriots of the DPRK and the Overseas Koreans' Affairs Administration as well as bouquets.

The participants paid a silent tribute to the memory of Choe Hong Hui.

Ri Yong Son, chairman of the International Martial Arts Games Committee who is also president of the ITF, made a memorial address.

That day, the participants looked round the Taekwon-Do Holy House and watched a demonstration performance given by instructors and players of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee at the Taekwon-Do Hall. -0- (Juche113.6.16.)
