Evening Gala of KCU Members Held

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- An evening gala of the schoolchildren took place on the campus of Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace on Friday evening to celebrate the 79th founding anniversary of the Korean Children's Union.

Among the spectators were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, Choe Tong Myong, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, and other senior Party and government officials, officials of the youth league, the participants in the celebrations of the 79th founding anniversary of the KCU and schoolchildren.

Members of the delegation of Korean schoolchildren in Japan on a visit to the socialist homeland to take part in the celebrations of the KCU founding anniversary were among the spectators.

The evening gala began amid the playing of the song "We Are the Happiest in the World" and the fireworks displayed in the nocturnal sky.

The participants in the evening gala danced while changing formations in beautiful rhythm, representing the strong appearance and bold spirit of the new generation growing up to be successors to the revolution, flying high the KCU flags.

The participants decorated the end of the evening gala by changing formations to depict the letters "Ready Always", reflecting the determination of schoolchildren across the country to prepare themselves to be the masters shouldering the future of prosperous Korea, amid the magnificent fireworks and colorful flames adorned in the sky of June. -0-
