Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Schoolchildren in the DPRK significantly celebrated the 79th founding anniversary of the Korean Children's Union.

Members of the KCU across the country visited the statues of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in different parts of the country to lay flower baskets, bouquets and flowers before paying tribute to them.

Joint meetings, KCU sessions, meetings of schoolchildren who distinguished in displaying noble traits and pride-telling stages of KCU members took place at the youth league committees of provinces, cities and counties and KCU organizations of schools on the occasion of the 79th founding anniversary of the KCU.

Reporters, speakers and performers extended gratitude to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un for valuing the rising generations and giving prominence to them as precious treasures of the country and making sure that the founding anniversary of the KCU was significantly celebrated as a holiday of joy and happiness of the KCU members across the country.

Art performances, dancing parties and sports and amusement of schoolchildren took place across the country, adding to the joy of the holiday.
