Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Following are major news items and articles in leading newspapers of the DPRK on Tuesday:

- The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un looked around the completed major service facilities of the Kalma coastal tourist area. (photos accompanied)

- He sent a congratulatory letter to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation.

- He received a message of greeting from the president of the United Russia Party.

- He received floral baskets from the president of Nigeria and members of the Board of Directors of the Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il Foundation.

- He received a floral basket and a congratulatory letter from the military attaches corps here.

- Dancing parties were given by the working people's organizations to celebrate the 13th anniversary of Kim Jong Un's assumption of the supreme commandership of the armed forces of the DPRK.

- Students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School held meetings to tell their pride of 2024 in ample knowledge, high morality and strong body.

- Ceremonies for moving into new houses took place at several rural villages in South Phyongan, Kangwon and South Hamgyong provinces.

- A new solar power station was built in South Phyongan Province.

- Greeting cards were produced on the occasion of the hope-filled New Year 2025.

- Memorial events took place in Russia on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of demise of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

- The first-stage main waterway tunnel project and installation of generating equipment and pressure iron pipe were completed at the Tanchon Power Station.

- An article discloses that Japan's military "assistance" to a state along Aden Bay is aimed to maintain and strengthen its military base.
