Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- The farms of North Hwanghae Province of the DPRK successfully concluded rice-transplanting in the main areas.

Songnim City and Kumchon, Yonthan and other counties gave priority to ploughing of paddy fields and harrowing and ensured the number of plants per phyong.

The Kupho Farm of Hwangju County and the Kachon Farm of Pongsan County introduced the method of raising rice seedlings in the greenhouse to shorten the date of raising them and took measures for ensuring full operation of nutritive rice-transplanting machines, thus transplanting rice seedlings in a larger area than planned every day.

Sariwon City and Sohung County have enhanced the role of tractor drivers, rice-transplanting machine operators and seedling suppliers and directed efforts to raising the actual working rate of farm machines.

The Township Farm in Thosan County, the Kangan Farm in Unpha County and other farms concentrated forces on fields with unfavourable working conditions and increased the speed of carrying rice seedlings by making effective use of small tractors and tillers.

Junghwa, Rinsan and Yonsan counties laid the solid material and technical foundations for increasing the proportion of farm work done by machines and conducted brisk mobile repair team activities to complete the rice-transplanting at the optimum time. -0-
