Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- The Scientific Research Prize was awarded to exemplary university students of the DPRK who have distinguished themselves in study and scientific researches.

University students across the country presented inventions and technological innovation proposals conducive to developing the country's economy and improving the people's standard of living through a brisk brainstorming campaign.

A meeting for awarding the prize was held at the youth league hall on October 22.

Present there were Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, officials of the youth league and university students.

Diplomas and medals were awarded to more than 500 university students including those of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and Phyongsong University of Coal Mining who are exemplary in their study and scientific researches.

At the end of the meeting, a performance of students' mobile motivation team was given to congratulate the prize winners. -0-
