Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- In hearty response to the Workers' Party of Korea's policy on encouraging fish farming in paddy fields, the DPRK-style method of green cultivation and fish farming is being introduced on a nationwide scale.
The Agricultural Commission is organizing a nationwide passing-on technique session to expand and introduce the method of fish farming in paddy fields so that officials buckle down to fish farming in paddy fields, and intensifying technical guidance related to it.
Many farms in South Hwanghae Province are directing efforts to fish farming in paddy fields while taking measures to supply fry and fish feed.
The Honam Farm under the Pyongyang Municipal Rural Economy Committee, the Chilgol Vegetable Farm in Mangyongdae District and the Tanggok Farm in Kangnam County set the proper locations and sizes of paddy fields for fish farming to suit the biological characteristics of fish and the breeding and management conditions and are putting the breeding and management on a scientific and technological basis to increase the per-hectare productivity.
The Samhwa Vegetable Farm in Phyongsong City, the Yakjon Farm in Sukchon County and the Jungsan Farm in Sunchon City of South Phyongan Province are making rational use of assorted feed and natural feed while building breed-fish grounds.
Agricultural workers in North Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces have built protein feed production grounds and expanded the areas for protein grass cultivation. -0-
