Brisk Campaign for Improving Land Environment

Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- A campaign for improving rivers and roads, protecting ecological environment and sprucing up towns and villages is going on in Nampho Municipality of the DPRK.

Thanks to the devoted efforts of officials and working people in the municipality, more than 485 000 cubic meters of earth on river bed were removed, waterways straightened, retaining walls built, embankments reinforced and roads paved in the first half of the year.

Chollima District completed the repair of river embankments vulnerable to flood, dredging of river beds and paving and repairing of roads in tens of kilometers-long sections.

Officials and working people in Hanggu District have built a retaining wall of the embankment of the River Taedong flowing through the area of Jisa-ri and directed efforts to the reconstruction of roads for ensuring their cultural refinement and security.

Measures have been taken timely in different parts and units to protect land and provide people with convenient living conditions through a mass movement. -0-
