Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- The Academy of Pedagogical Science is putting spurs to the work to develop the country's education.

The academy set as its main task the valuable scientific research projects conducive to the educational practice including the improvement of the contents and methods of education and the management of education in a scientific way.

It has directed its main efforts to improving the qualifications, abilities and expertise of teachers, intensifying the research into developing an integrated management system capable of giving unified guidance to the educational and scientific research of the country and completing programs for it to introduce them into the educational institutions.

It is studying to further develop the new system of teaching and management being introduced at universities and pushing ahead with writing books including the theory of the course of teacher training and the psychology of education in a planned way.

It is pushing ahead with the work to put the system of selecting subjects on a more scientific basis according to the character, abilities and hobby of students and improve the standard of educational equipment and materials in conformity with the physical and psychological characteristics of students.

And it also strives to establish the system of assessing the gaps between Pyongyang and regional areas in educational level and newly develop and upgrade the educational evaluation program and the educational aid programs conducive to putting education on a modern and IT basis. -0-
