Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- Workers of the salt industry sector in the DPRK have achieved successes in salt production in the new year.

The Kwangryangman Salt Works has pushed ahead with the maintenance and updating of equipment such as water pump and electric motor and took measures to supply electricity based on natural energy, thus increasing production.

The Kwisong Salt Works built maintenance base to secure necessary materials and parts and is solving technical problems arising in raising salinity at evaporating ponds.

The Namyang Salt Works and the Kumsong Salt Works are ensuring full-capacity operation of vibrating compactors and salt loaders and directing efforts to expanding transport capacity and improving the efficiency of water circulation system.

The Nampho Salt Works, the Namsi Salt Works and other units are increasing output of salt per square meter while improving its quality. -0-
