Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- A national technical training course and symposium in the library field took place in the DPRK from August 26 to 28 under the sponsorship of the Korean Library Association of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

Present at the technical training course and symposium under the theme of "Dissemination of sci-tech data and service function of intelligent library" were officials, scientists, technicians and graduate students of more than 150 units including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, State Academy of Sciences, Grand People's Study House and provincial sci-tech libraries, city and county Mirae e-libraries.

Lectures on the book service system and comprehensive information service system of city and county leisure complexes to improve the practical abilities of officials in the library field were given in the technical training course.

Highly appreciated at the symposium were the proposals for building the intelligent management system of e-libraries and for the integrated service mode in the environment of intelligent libraries.

During the period, there was a demonstration of the service and business processes of the Kangwon Provincial Science and Technology Library. -0-
