Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Various economic sectors and units in the DPRK fulfilled their national economic plans for May.

The Musan Mining Complex provided a guarantee for the increased production through the successful blasting of 1.2 million cubic meters of earth and increased the production of concentrated iron ore.

The Hungnam Electrode Factory carried out its monthly plan by boosting production and Unnyul, Jaeryong and Hungsan mines brought about a great upsurge in production while taking measures to operate rock-drills and excavators at full capacity and raise the extraction rate of product.

The workers of the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex introduced advanced technology and new methods of operation and ensured the operation rate of equipment. The Hungnam Fertilizer Complex has produced 10-odd more tons of fertilizer on a daily average and the Ponghwa Chemical Factory and the Sunchon Chemical Complex made innovations in production.

Workers in the fields of electric power industry, including Pukchang Thermal Power Complex, Sunchon Thermal Power Plant and Suphung and Hochongang power stations, fulfilled their monthly plans with vigorous courage and exertion.

Those in the coal-mining industry made redoubled efforts to repay the trust of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee which put them forward as the core of the country.

The machine-building industrial sector brought about a surge in production while concentrating effort on the improvement of quality of products, and the mining industrial sector expanded successes in the production of mineral and nonferrous metal.

Workers in the railway transport sector over-fulfilled their freight transport plans for May.

The Ministry of Forestry carried out its timber production plan for May at 110 percent.

The Sangwon Cement Complex carried out its monthly plan ahead of schedule and the Sunchon Cement Complex has produced 21 000 more tons of cement than the same period of last year until now. the Taean Friendship Glass Factory registered high results in the production of sheet glass.
