Pyongyang, February 1 (KCNA) -- The Twelfth Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) took place on January 31.
Present there were members and alternate members of the GFTUK Central Committee and, as observers, trade union officials from Pyongyang and provinces.
The enlarged plenary meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the issue of revising some contents of the Rules of the GFTUK, etc.
Pak In Chol, chairman of the GFTUK Central Committee, made a report.
He analyzed and reviewed the successes, experience, deviations and lessons made in the 2024 work of the GFTUK and referred to the ways for the GFTUK to fulfill its mission and duty in pushing forward with the preparations for the next stage of development substantially while successfully completing the Five-Year Plan for National Economic Development.
He called for bringing about an epochal turn in strengthening the union organizations this significant year marking the 80th founding anniversary of the GFTUK.
He called for actively organizing and conducting various mass movements conducive to attaining the goals of the struggle, as intended by the Party to dynamically conduct a drive for increased production and economy this year, and thus making patriotism of the working people bring proud successes.
The reporter stressed the need for all trade union officials to faithfully fulfill their duty in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee.
Speeches were made at the meeting.
