Project for Ore Transport System Completed at Komdok Mining Complex of DPRK

Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- The Komdok Mining Complex in the DPRK successfully completed the project for rationally readjusting the ore transport system.

The conveyer system no. 9 and the conveyer pit no. 72, which will play an important share in ore production and prospective production, have been newly built. So, the material and technical foundations were laid to transport all the ores produced in the deep and upper areas by long-distance belt conveyors and a prospect for radically increasing the production of nonferrous metals opened up.

An inaugural ceremony of the newly-built conveyor system and conveyer pit took place at the Komdok Mining Complex on Thursday.

Present there were Ri Jong Nam, chief secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials and employees of the General Bureau of Tanchon Area Mining Industry and the Komdok Mining Complex, the commanding officers and members of the August 28 Youth Shock Brigade.

Ryu Kwang Myong, manager of the Komdok Mining Complex, made an inaugural address at the ceremony. -0-
