WPK Central Committee Sends Congratulatory Message to Chonsong Youth Coal Mine

Pyongyang, May 28 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the Chonsong Youth Coal Mine in the DPRK on Tuesday to convey a congratulatory message sent by the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to the miners, employees and officials of the coal mine on the occasion of its 60th founding anniversary.

Present there were Kim Tok Hun, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and officials and employees of the coal mine.

Kim Tok Hun conveyed the congratulatory message sent by the WPK Central Committee to the miners, employees and officials of the coal mine.

The message said that the 60-year-long history of the coal mine is associated with the exploits of the coal miners who have grown into be a large contingent of the heroic working class, faithfully supporting the Party's leadership and dynamically accelerating the development and prosperity of the state with their vigorous struggle for creation and high results in coal production.

The WPK paid deep attention to the area of Chonsong among the coal mines in South Phyongan Province, which has inexhaustible coal deposits. Under the plan of the Party, the coal mine declared its establishment on May 22, 1965 after starting its development at the foot of Satkat Hill. Since then it has laid a firm foundation for a large-scale coal production base by putting the whole processes of prospecting, tunneling, mining and coal conveying on a mechanized, modern and scientific basis, the message stressed.

The message noted that the good revolutionary spirit of the coal miners, who are sharing their intention and affection and pooling their efforts in implementing the Party's ideas and policies and making a positive contribution to the development of the state and bringing about substantial results of advance and leap forwards, steadily setting goals high and cultivating self-development, are shining with the honorable titles, including the title of the Three-Revolution Red Flag won by the coal mine, and images of the meritorious persons of socialist patriotism.

The WPK Central Committee highly praised the coal miners, employees and officials of the Chonsong Youth Coal Mine who have made great contributions to the Juche-oriented development of the coal industry and the implementation of the Party's economic policy over the past six decades by uniting in one mind with their ardent loyalty and patriotic conscience.

Speeches were made and a resolution adopted at the meeting. -0-
